Epilogue:

The tale of the Californian Condor is a funny and tragic one. In the mid-80s, a bunch (flock?) of biologists decided to round up the remaining few specimens of that really, really ugly bird and breed them in captivity to save them from extinction. They caught the condors, fumigated and deloused them, and watched as the condors fooled around and increased their numbers substantially. A success!

Except the biologists unknowingly, single-handedly pushed one species to extinction with that kind act: the Californian Condor Louse.

Great.

Thursdays are Tijuana Shorts: Comics which feature the regular cast but are non-canon, deal with off-topic themes and may even break the 4th wall. They are noticeably shorter comics with toned-down art and less panels. Get used to them! Tijuana Regular resumes on Monday.

  1. John K says:

ya’ know, this actually isn’t that bad of an idea.

    • D. Long says:

I’ll second this. If there’s any “incentive” for saving endangered species, it’s for corporations that could profit from their flourishing. Write to your local fast food joints and start demanding McCondor sandwiches!

  2. SEA says:

Probably still tastes like chicken. =p

  3. Nate Fakes says:

Mmm….those Chicken McNuggets! Always wonder what it is I’m really biting into!

    • speearr says:

If you saw Supersize Me and read Fast Food Nation, you wouldn’t want to sink your teeth into one of those anymore. Trust me.

  4. George says:

And what Ronald can’t use he can sell to the chinese food industry.

  5. I’ll be super-sizing mine, please! :)

  6. Oh man, it’s like the Heath Ledger Joker mixed with Ronald McDonald!

    Genius!

    • speearr says:

I based my clown on Ledger’s Joker and a certain fast food chain mascot which I will not name, but which is probably pretty obvious. ;) Sharp eyes there.

  7. Dave says:

So wrong, but… you know… it could actually work… Hmmm… It would give PETA (pita) another bone to pick…

  8. jynksie says:

I didn’t even know Condors were from California… but a fried condor nugget has a rather exotic ring to it me thinks!!

  9. muddlecreek says:

Yeah…. that’s one pretty menacing hamburger clown… the hamburglar won’t be stealing from him…
