Comic for 2009/08/20: The Windows Experience

The Windows Experience
speearr : "Ace is a damn noob, I guess..............."

Little things about Windows Vista annoy me. For example, if I want to paste an item into a folder, I would normally copy it from the source location, navigate to the destination folder (which I’ve already opened earlier) by clicking on its taskbar button on the taskbar, causing the folder’s window to pop up, and then type CTRL+V. This works fine on XP, but on Vista, you have the added step of clicking within the window before you can paste into the folder. That’s annoying, and defeats the purpose of having keyboard shortcuts in the first place. I don’t know if it’s a bug or if Microsoft intends it to be this way.

Thursdays are Tijuana Shorts: Comics which feature the regular cast but are non-canon, deal with off-topic themes and may even break the 4th wall. They are noticeably shorter comics with toned-down art and less panels. Get used to them! Tijuana Regular resumes on Monday.

preach it brother! I actually bought my first windows machine earlier last year, (a laptop) and as a life long Mac desktop user, I was shocked by how load it is!

Window’s Millennium perhaps? Lol – we were just talking about that the other day

Ace is pretty quick if it only took 2 hours ;)

I know many who’ve had fits and fell in them over vista, but I have to say (and I hope it doesnt jinx me) I’ve had no real issues to speak of.

With that said, I think if I had a giant bug like that staring back at me, I’d soil myself a little!!

The craziest thing about Vista (for me) was that after one of those automatic updates, my PC stopped recognizing my wireless network adapter. I now have a 15-metre long LAN cable snaking across my house. :(

      • jynksie says:

Actually, I had that similar problem shortly after buying this computer I’m using now. Check with your computers manufacturer’s web site, I had to update my wireless network adapter driver. It actually has to partially do w/ firefox’s update to 3.5

I have a windows partitiion on my Mac (even though I’m a hard core Mac guy, I still play my Spore on PC), and I haven’t dared to try Vista… I use still use XP. I’ve never heard anything good about Vista.

    • speearr says:

Well you won’t hear anything good from me about it, that’s for sure. Except that is looks slicker than XP.

Couldn’t he tell that bug wasn’t as big as the bugs in a Windows system?
