Comic for 2009/09/07: Disengage Lock

Disengage Lock
SpilledInkGuy : "A futuristic "clapper" might be interesting, too! Clap unlock, clap lock ... the clapper! :) ..."

‘Slide to unlock’ is courtesy of Apple’s iPhone.

Personally, I don’t own a phone with a touch screen interface. I’m still clinging on to my 5-year-old Nokia 6230, which has a reputation for trapping dust better than a vacuum cleaner.

This comic marks the start of Part II: Space.

Heh, I lol’d in real life there when I got to the slide panel, probably one of the most powerful “slide to unlocks” (also, I see you’re continuing your trend of awesome first panels)

  2. George says:

Yo, an igrenade app sounds like a necessity! :) The comic looks wonderful as always.

Haha! I love it! This is my first visit to your site. I’ve bookmarked it for a more thorough read leter, but it’s looking great. Good job.

I’ve become a fan of The Cat Comic too dude, it’s a really great insight into some unusual cat personalities. We used to have cats too and I’m pretty amazed how different each animal’s personality was.

I don’t own an “i” anything and proud of it! I am anti-technology and shall fight it to the death!!

  5. John K says:

I love the second panel, the cut away view is sweet!

    • speearr says:

Thanks John. I’ll post a bigger version later, cos you can hardly see all that mess in a tiny 450-pixel-wide box.

  6. BEAUTIFUL … as always! I’ve got a little jealous drooling going on … I better touch that moist towelette icon! :)

  7. Jackson says:

Keong, your artwork kicks unmitigated ass. I like how Terence N. Tijuana’s update schedule allows you more time to work on each individual comic and showcase your skills. Did you notice that today’s comic made Pick of the Day on my Twitter?

  8. D. Long says:

This is just awesome. I love the artwork and the “Slide to unlock” on the ship was enough of a laugh before the igrenade added to it. Perfect.

  9. Nate Fakes says:

At least it’s not Voice Command. That could lead to some unfortunate accidents with those things.

    • speearr says:

I can certainly imagine a few disastrous scenarios. I’m not a fan of voice command interfaces, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s a dead-end technology.

  10. A futuristic “clapper” might be interesting, too! Clap unlock, clap lock … the clapper! :)
