To be fair, I have not read Mr. Brown’s latest page-turner. However, having consumed his previous four attempts at ‘literature’, I have pretty well-formed opinions about the man.
I had problems with Wordpress and therefore the comic is very, very delayed. However, if you checked earlier, there was (and still is) an unfinished version of the comic here (or in the blog below).
Thursdays are Tijuana Shorts: Comics which feature the regular cast but are non-canon, deal with off-topic themes and may even break the 4th wall. They are noticeably shorter comics with toned-down art and less panels. Get used to them! Tijuana Regular resumes on Monday.

Hey man, you’re picking on my neighbor (he lives here in N.H.), bad KEONG-bad!! (j/k) I actually enjoy his books, but the movies are gawd awefully done!! Most authors have a formula for writing books, Grisham, Koontz, Patterson etc… list goes on. You can’t continually write a best seller series w/o them having a set structure.
Having a formula is fine…. this guy is formulaic to the point of obsession! Oh, and say hi to him for me if you ever bump into him at your local Conspiracy Theorists Anonymous meets….
I don’t know, you kinda got to give it to Brown that folks still buy it!
Yup, folks like… me! To be fair, I went through a phase where I was desperate for action novels. This was before webcomics.
I have to admit Brown’s not my cup of tea, personally speaking. Give me sci-fi antics any day of the week. Actually, now that I think about it, *you* do (or at least every Monday and Thursday)! 100 kudos points!
Well he’s sold enough cups of tea so we don’t have to sympathize with him lol…
Man, if only I could sell my tweets, I’d be a hundredaire!
I take it you don’t tweet very often…?
Just another reason why I prefer to “read” content with the highest image to text ratio available!
Hence the reason you’re here!
Well said.
Brown’s an easy target. Most successful artists and writers are, in fact. Aren’t we generally suspect of anyone that the Great Unwashed seem to like a little too much?
Circle One: Bands I Like.
Circle Two: Bands you like.
Where They Overlap: Bands I Used to Like. heh heh.
Honestly, the reason Brown bothers me is that I consider myself a better writer, yet I can’t get arrested in the publishing industry. Therefore, I focus on his lack of innovation and self-plagiarism. I focus on his howlingly bad construction and cardboard characters. I mock his awkward metaphors and Tom Hanks’ hair.
But mostly I envy Brown his success.
I’ll admit that envy would probably the underlying reason most people attack Brown. If he were making peanuts off of the books and wasn’t a big name, no one would devote precious column space (or in these days, bandwidth) to criticize him.
